In Lutsk the first state maternity hospital that had only 25 beds was situated in a brick two-storeyed building, Suvorov Str., in 1946, where in the 30-th years of the last century the private hospital of Polish doctor Bilobram was found.

In 1951 this medical establishment was disposed in more adjusted building in T. Shevchenko Street, and in 1967, in P. Hulak-Artemovsky Street a new typical maternity hospital was inaugurated that had 150 beds.

At that time this medical institution became a regional organizational-methodical and consulting center in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology.

In 1977 a new obstetrics block was built and in 1987 -antenatal clinic. Such improvements gave possibility to better placing of treatment and utility departments of the institution.

Since spring 2004 Lutsk Clinical Maternity Hospital has been led by Nina Zahrebelna. As the results of her initiative and persistence there is a well-ordered territory around the institution, obstetric and utility buildings have been repaired, but the main thing - cardinally changed for the better methods of providing care for pregnant, women in birth, women recently confined, new-borns, gynaecological patients. First, for all period of Maternity Hospital functioning , every medical worker was offered to look at doing their duties by mother and child's eyes.

Friendly attitude, highly skilled and timely medical care, comfortable conditions, to the maximum close to home are basic real criteria for today. Because of them level of the institution has been increased in the patients' eyes not only of Volyn region but another Ukrainian regions as well.

And inspite of the additional loading, the staff is proud and very glad for every woman who has decided to continue her kin in Lutsk Clinical Maternity Hospital.

Putting of new, accessible, simple, effective and absolutely safe technologies into practice has been successful. The quantity of normal deliveries has increased from 25 to 80 %, the quantity of cesarean section has decreased from 30 to 13%, the necessity of medicines application has diminished, the quantity of healthy new-borns has grown to 81%.
